On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at OgiTech Campus, Comr. Balogun Damilola Boluwatife — former Acting Vice President of the Mopa Students Union and now Special Assistant on Student Affairs to the NAPS Vice President (National Affairs) — handed over to the new executives of the 2025/2026 administration. In his farewell, he urged the new leaders to serve with vision, integrity, and purpose. He emphasized teamwork, accountability, inclusivity, and innovation as the pillars of effective leadership. Comr.   The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) condemns in the strongest terms the recent outrageous increment of school fees by over 100% at Kogi State Polytechnic. This action is unjust, inconsiderate, and a direct attempt to frustrate struggling students and their parents at a time when the nation is battling severe economic hardship. Even His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, whom we believe in and hold in high regard, would not inflict such pains on Nigerian students.  PRESS STATEMENT   My attention have drawn to a purported letter in circulation released by the Management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, on the recent increment in tuition fee by over 80%. This development is not only worrisome but disturbing.  Judging by the current economy hardship in the country, where almost all facet of the economy is stagnant, the management of the institution should as a matter of urgency at this critical point in time to suspend this increment, pending the improvement of the economy stability in the country.  It is a common knowledge that, Nigerian students could not afford the earlier tuition fee due to the economy down-turn, which as a result of that, some have dropped out of school, while some are finding it cumbersome to cope and prays to rounds up the program in earnest.
