Drug Dependency Rages: CNG Reports 50% of Nigerian Students Affected.

By Usman Ibrahim Dende  The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has expressed deep concern over the alarming rate of illicit drug use among Nigerian students, with over 50% reportedly consuming psychotropic substances. Speaking at a public lecture in Lokoja, CNG National Coordinator Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi warned that urgent action is needed to address the issue, or risk jeopardizing the country's future. Charanchi called for schools to set up drug-free clubs and counselling units, and urged stakeholders to guide the youth towards ethical leadership. He emphasized that the problem isn't limited to students, but affects all classes of Nigerians, making the country one of the highest consumers of illicit drugs globally.
