Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori-Ewekoro, Ogun State. The young student reportedly lost her life during an alleged armed robbery attack in the Eruku community. What should have been another day of learning ended in bloodshed — another life cut short in the pursuit of education. This incident is not an isolated case. It reflects a growing pattern of insecurity that has turned our campuses and host communities into danger zones. Students who leave their homes with dreams and aspirations are now forced to live in constant fear, and too many are paying with their lives because of systemic failures to protect them.
