AYCC KOGI STATE CELEBRATES GOV. ODODO'S PEOPLE-CENTERED LEADERSHIP, SEEKS ACCELERATED YOUTH EMPOWERMEN

The Arewa Youths Consultative Council, AYCC Kogi State Chapter, has poured encomiums on His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, describes his administration as people-centered and focused on the future of Kogi youths.

In a press statement released today, Wednesday, 9th September 2026, and signed by the State Coordinator, Amb. Usman Ibrahim Dende CNPS, the Council said the Governor's recent policy direction, especially in the area of youth empowerment, employment and human capital development, has renewed hope among young people across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to the statement, the Gov Ododo has in recent weeks taken deliberate steps that signal a new dawn for youth inclusion in governance and economic development.

While details of the employment process are still being finalized, AYCC noted that the commencement itself is a clear demonstration of the administration's commitment to reducing unemployment and putting food on the tables of Kogi families.

Amb. Ibrahim  noted that since the assumption of office, Governor Ododo has shown steadfastness in two critical sectors that directly affect the growth of any society: Education and Security.

"In the education sector, students and parents have witnessed interventions that are easing the burden of learning. This includes the annual payment of students' bursaries and scholarships to Kogi students in tertiary institutions across the country. In security, communities are beginning to sleep with their two eyes closed. These achievements deserve commendation because they create the enabling environment for youth to thrive," he said.

The AYCC Coordinator further stated that Kogi youths are the largest demographic in the state and, therefore, must be prioritized if the state must achieve sustainable development. He urged the governor to swing into the ongoing youth empowerment and employment process as a matter of urgency.

"We believe that fast-tracking this process will not only reduce unemployment but will also empower families, curb restiveness, and boost the economy of our dear state. Mr. Governor, the youths are ready to work and partner with you to build the Kogi of our dreams," the statement read.

AYCC Kogi State Chapter also appreciated the governor for his youth-friendly policies, transparency, and his willingness to carry young people along. The Council assured the administration of its unalloyed support and readiness to mobilize Kogi youths to key into government programs.

"We reaffirm our commitment to partner with this administration to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every nook and cranny of Kogi State. A leader who listens to the people and acts in their interest deserves the support of all," Amb. Dende concluded.
