NAPS REJECTS 100% SCHOOL FEES HIKE AT KOGI STATE POLYTECHNIC, DEMANDS IMMEDIATE REVERSAL
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) condemns in the strongest terms the recent outrageous increment of school fees by over 100% at Kogi State Polytechnic. This action is unjust, inconsiderate, and a direct attempt to frustrate struggling students and their parents at a time when the nation is battling severe economic hardship. Even His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, whom we believe in and hold in high regard, would not inflict such pains on Nigerian students. This policy also stands in contradiction to the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which is focused on easing the burden of citizens while reforms are being implemented for national growth.
As the umbrella body of over 28.1 million Nigerian Polytechnic, Monotechnic, and Colleges of Technology students, we have officially written to the management of Kogi State Polytechnic demanding the immediate reversal of this increment within two (2) working days.
We urge our students to remain calm and law-abiding as we believe the management will listen to reason and do the right thing in the interest of justice and fairness. NAPS remains resolute in defending the rights and welfare of Nigerian students anywhere, anytime.
