This milestone marks Nigeria's journey since gaining independence on October 1, 1960.    In his statement, he said that: “As Kogi State celebrates this significant day, it's essential to reflect on its rich history. Originally part of the Northern Region, Kogi State was formed in 1991 from parts of Benue, Niger, and Kwara states. Today, it's known as the "Confluence State" due to the River Niger and River Benue's intersection near its capital, Lokoja”. On this special day, Comr Salau Enesi Habib encourages Nigerians to unite, promote peace, and work towards a brighter future.  The CNG Kogi State chairman's message emphasizes the importance of national unity and progress. The Student leaders in Kogi State have assured Governor Ododo of their commitment to a peaceful resolution, following a meeting with the Auditor General of Local Government, Hon Yakubu Adabenege (Fancy), representing the Kogi State Governor His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo FCA at on the 6th of September 2024.
