A TRIBUTE TO HIS EXCELLENCY, ALHAJI IBRAHIM IDRIS FORMER GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE





INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJI'UN


With a heavy heart, I join the people of Kogi State, the Igala Kingdom, his family, friends, associates and well-wishers in mourning the passing of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, former Governor of Kogi State, who passed away yesterday.


His departure is a painful loss to our people and a significant moment in the political history of Kogi State. He was a man who occupied an important place in the development and political evolution of our dear State.


As Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris contributed to the development of Kogi State through various projects and initiatives across key sectors. His administration recorded interventions in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, housing, sports and other areas of public development.


Among the projects associated with his administration were the Greater Lokoja Water Scheme, Confluence Stadium, Confluence International Market, housing projects, healthcare facilities, road and bridge projects, as well as interventions in educational infrastructure and the development of Kogi State University, Anyigba.


These contributions remain part of the developmental history of Kogi State and deserve to be remembered as we reflect on his years of service.


At the same time, history teaches us that no human being or administration is without shortcomings. There were certainly challenges, criticisms and expectations that may not have been fully met during his time in office. But in death, we are reminded that every human being is ultimately accountable before Almighty Allah, and that our duty is to remember the good, acknowledge the imperfections and leave the final judgment to God.


Today, we do not mourn merely a former Governor; we mourn a father, grandfather, political leader and a citizen who played his part in the affairs of our State and nation.


His passing is another reminder that power, wealth, titles and political positions are temporary, while the legacy we leave behind and our deeds before Almighty Allah are what ultimately remain.


On behalf of myself, my family and all those who share in this moment of grief, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.


May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, reward him for his contributions to humanity and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.


May Allah illuminate his grave, grant him eternal peace and make his final abode among the righteous.


May Almighty Allah also grant his family, friends, associates, the people of Kogi State and the entire Igala Kingdom the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

NAPS VP Comr Ibrahim Dende Praises Gov Ododo for Delivering on Security Promises

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), has commended His Excellency,  the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, for unveiling security drones to combat insecurity in Kogi State. In a statement, the NAPS VP National Affairs Comr Usman Ibrahimnyass Dende hailed Governor Ododo for matching his words with actions, saying the move demonstrates his commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the state.
