NAPS VP National Affairs Comr. Ibrahim Dende Congratulates BABTEE as NANS National President and Ibb as National Senate President.
The Vice President National Affairs, National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS)Comr. Usman Ibrahimnyass Dende CNPS has congratulated the newly elected leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) following the successful conclusion of the 2026 National Convention held in Abuja.
Comr. Dende extended warm felicitations to Comr. Akinteye Babatunde, popularly known as BABTEE, on his emergence as NANS National President, and to Comr. Ibeabuchi Moses Onyia, known as Mosline Ibb, on his election as National Senate President. He said their victory reflects the confidence of Nigerian students in their capacity to provide strong advocacy, unity, and strategic direction at a critical time for tertiary education and student welfare in the country.
Describing the convention as peaceful and participatory, Dende noted that the turnout and engagement of delegates across polytechnics, universities, and colleges of education underscored the relevance of NANS as the apex student body in Nigeria. According to him, the credibility of the process has set a solid foundation for the new executives to build on.
The NAPS VP also congratulated other elected executives who emerged at the convention alongside the president and senate president.
Comr. Dende expressed confidence that the new leadership possesses the experience, grassroots connection, and commitment required to strengthen student advocacy, promote unity across campuses, and engage constructively with government, management of institutions, and other stakeholders on issues affecting Nigerian students.
He emphasized that the challenges ahead require a leadership that is responsive, transparent, and focused on delivering tangible outcomes. Key among these, he said, are the resolution of issues around academic calendars, welfare, security on campuses, and the timely issuance of academic credentials to graduates.
“On behalf of the National Association of Polytechnic Students, I wish you all a very productive tenure. May your time in office be marked by meaningful reforms, stronger student representation, and lasting impact that restores confidence in student leadership,” Dende stated.
He further called on all elected officers to carry every constituency along, avoid divisive politics, and prioritize dialogue in resolving disputes. Dende added that NAPS remains committed to working in synergy with NANS to ensure that the voices of polytechnic students are adequately represented at the national level.
NAPS reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with the new NANS leadership to advance the collective interests of Nigerian students nationwide, stressing that unity among student structures is essential to achieving progress in the education sector.
