NANS JCC Kogi State Congratulates Federal University Lokoja’s New Vice‑Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye

The Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council (JCC) Kogi State, Comrade Ojo Samuel Adeoye, has extended a warm congratulation to the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) community on the appointment of Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye as the university’s fourth Vice‑Chancellor.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Adeoye praised Professor Ibileye’s distinguished academic career and leadership experience, noting that his vision for educational excellence aligns closely with NANS’ commitment to improving tertiary education in the state. “We welcome Professor Ibileye with open arms and look forward to collaborating with him to address the challenges facing our students and to foster an environment where innovation thrives,” the chairman said.

Professor Ibileye, a seasoned scholar in environmental science, previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Ibadan and has led several national research initiatives. His appointment, effective December 1, 2025, marks a new chapter for FUL as it seeks to boost research output and upgrade infrastructure.

The NANS JCC Kogi State pledged its support to the new Vice‑Chancellor, urging the university administration to prioritize student welfare, adequate funding, and policies that promote inclusivity. “Together, we will strive to make Federal University Lokoja a beacon of academic excellence in the Niger‑East region,” Adeoye added.
