COMRADE BALOGUN DAMILOLA BOLUWATIFE (ARC BALO) TO NIGERIAN YOUTH: TURNING LOCAL ACTION INTO GLOBAL IMPACT
PRESS STATEMENT
On the occasion of International Youth Day 2025, celebrated under the United Nations theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” Comrade Balogun Damilola Boluwatife (ARC BALO), S.A Student Affairs to the NAPS Vice President (Nat’l Affairs), has called on Nigerian youth to remain steadfast in driving community-based solutions that resonate on a global scale.
ARC BALO hailed the creativity, resilience, and determination of Nigerian youth, describing them as “the architects of a sustainable tomorrow whose efforts at the grassroots are inspiring change across the world.” He emphasized that young people are not waiting for opportunities — they are creating them through innovations in climate action, education, technology, entrepreneurship, governance, and social development.
From renewable energy startups in rural communities to digital literacy projects in underserved schools, Nigerian youth are proving that local action is a catalyst for global transformation. ARC BALO noted that every effort, no matter how small, contributes directly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He called on government at all levels, the private sector, and development partners to invest more in youth capacity-building, digital inclusion, climate-smart technologies, and sustainable job creation. He further stressed the importance of policies that encourage youth participation in decision-making processes, ensuring that young voices are not just heard but acted upon.
“This generation has the ideas, the skills, and the drive. What we need is the right support and platforms to scale our impact. Local actions, when nurtured, can create waves of change that go far beyond our borders,” ARC BALO said.
As part of the celebration, ARC BALO reaffirmed his commitment to promoting platforms for innovation, mentorship, and advocacy, ensuring that Nigerian youth continue to lead initiatives that strengthen both local communities and the nation at large.
Happy International Youth Day, Nigeria!
Signed:
Comrade Balogun Damilola Boluwatife (ARC BALO)
