NETWORK NIGHTMARE: NAPS Gives MTN 7-Day Ultimatum to Restore Lokoja Services or Face the Music!

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has expressed deep disappointment and frustration over MTN Nigeria's persistent network disruptions in Kogi State. The Senate President of NAPS, Dist Sen Usman Ibrahimnyass Dende, has issued a statement condemning MTN's actions and citing statutory obligations under Nigerian law.

NAPS cited Section 104(1) of the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, which requires service providers to ensure the availability, reliability, and quality of service to consumers. Additionally, the Nigerian Communications Commission's (NCC) Consumer Code of Practice Regulations 2007 mandates providers to promptly address disruptions and maintain transparency in service delivery.

NAPS has given MTN Nigeria a 7-day ultimatum to fully restore network services in Lokoja. Failure to comply may result in NAPS taking legal action against MTN, as the organization seeks to protect the rights and interests of its members.

The network disruptions have significantly impacted students and communities in Kogi State, hindering academic and economic activities. NAPS' stance reflects the growing concern over the reliability and quality of telecommunication services in Nigeria.
