2027: NORTHERN CAUCUS OF APC YOUNG LEADERS FORUM (AYLF) URGES PARTY TO STICK TO THE ZONING ARRANGEMENT FOR PRESIDENT

A political organization under the umbrella of the APC Young Leaders Forum( Northern Caucus)  has urged the leadership of APC to stick to the traditional arrangement of zoning and disregard El Rufai's comments about 2027 general election.

The Northern Caucus of the APC Young Leaders Forum ably led by the National Chairman and the leader of the Northern Caucus, Comrade Mohammed Eneji has backed the APC National Chairman H.E Abdullahi Ganduje on his latest comments about the regional traditional zoning of the Presidency of Nigeria. The National Chairman AYLF insisted that while it is not constitutional for the rotational presidency, it is however traditional that since the return of democracy in 1999, the Presidency of Nigeria has been rotating between the North and the south, the North have benefitted in the last eight years as president and therefore, it is only fair to allow the south to also complete their turn.

President Muhammadu Buhari was president for eight good years and was fully backed by the south west in particular to succeed, it is therefore going to be fair and just, if we allow presidency to remain in the south for the remainder of the four years beyond 2027. He stated.

His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has set the nation towards the path of recovery and progress, and as members of his party, it is incumbent on us to provide for him the needed support to succeed. As loyal party members, we are in full support of the President and are ready to work for power to remain in the south till 2031.

We also wish to dissociate ourselves from the statement credited to former Governor Nasir Elrufai as it is an attempt by him to unseat President Tinubu come 2027. Elrufai doesn't have the capacity or the credibility to alter regional rotation of presidency in Nigeria neither is he speaking for us the members of APC from the North. He has been politically wounded both in his state of Kaduna and at the national level, so we urge him to lick his wounds instead of attempting to heat up the polity unnecessarily. Comrade Mohammed added

The forum urged the President not to be deterred by  distractions while encouraging him to continue in his effort to bring back Nigeria to the path of progress and prosperity through his renewed hope agenda. We are using this medium to encourage Mr President and Commander in Chief of the Armed forces, President Ahmed Tinubu not to be distracted as he is working tirelessly in ensuring that Nigeria regains her space as the giant of Africa. The Chairman stated
