DEMOCRACY DAY: NORTH CENTRAL GROUP TASKS PRESIDENT TINUBU ON COST OF GOVERNANCE

The North Central Citizens Council NCCC have asked the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take advantage of the spirit of democracy day to lead in cutting down on cost of governance in Nigeria. The group made this known in a statement signed by the Coordinator, Comrade Mohammed Eneji emphasizing that there comes a time in the history of our nation where the president and presidency take the lead in the quest for cut in the cost of governance of Nigeria across board.

The recent revelation about 21 billion naira used to build and renovate the residence of the Vice President and Billions of Naira allotted to cater for vehicles of political office holders are nothing but a total hypocrisy in the side of government.

The Government and president must lead by example especially in a period where Nigerians are passing through a lot of hardships ranging from economic hardship to food inflation and having to bear with the high cost of fuel. It is time for president Tinubu to bring in policies that will see to a significant cut in the cost at which public office holders from the presidency, Governors, and National Assembly members govern in their respective constituencies.

Accountability must always be the watch word if the president really wants us to take him seriously in the so called fight to a renewed Nigeria.

Democracy is supposed to be a government for all not the one for the very few, we hope to see in the coming days a final conclusion on the issues of minimum wage, the take off of Dangote refinery's sales of PMS, sales of petrol from our refineries too which should lead to a reduction in price of petrol and the role out of the CNG Buses promised by the president. All these if properly implemented will bring about succour to the common man and bring Nigeria back into the path way to growth and prosperity which we all clamor for.
