The leadership of the Arewa Youth Consultative Council, Kogi State Chapter, has extended its heartfelt congratulations to all the newly elected Executive Chairmen and Councillors across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State who emerged victorious in the Local Government Elections conducted on 17th October, 2026.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Council by its State Coordinator, Amb. Usman Ibrahim Dende, CNPS, the group described the victory of the elected officials as well deserved, well earned and a true reflection of the overwhelming confidence and trust reposed in them by the people at the grassroots.
According to Amb. Dende, the outcome of the just concluded election is not just a political win, but a clear demonstration of the love the people have for their leaders and an attestation to their proven track record of commitment to community development, youth empowerment and grassroots governance. He noted that the electorate have spoken loudly through their votes, and the mandate given must be protected and justified through purposeful leadership.
The Council also used the opportunity to commend the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission for living up to expectation by conducting an election that was largely peaceful, free, fair, transparent and credible. The Council further applauded the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for his statesmanship, maturity and for providing the enabling environment and level playing ground that allowed all political parties to participate without intimidation, thereby deepening democracy at the third tier of government.
While congratulating the winners, the Arewa Youths Consultative Council charged the newly elected Chairmen and Councillors to see their election as a sacred call to service and not as an avenue for personal enrichment. Amb. Dende urged them to run an all inclusive administration that will give priority to youth inclusion, quality education, improved healthcare, security of lives and property, and sustainable infrastructural development in their various local government areas.
He stressed that as a youth body that is committed to the unity and progress of Northern Nigeria and Kogi State in particular, the Arewa Youths Consultative Council remains ready and willing to partner with all the newly elected officials in advancing the cause of good governance, peace building and youth development across the state.
The Council further called on all those who contested but did not win to accept the outcome in good faith and join hands with the winners to move their respective local governments forward in the interest of the state.
Amb. Usman Ibrahim Dende concluded by wishing all the newly elected Chairmen and Councillors a peaceful, successful and impactful tenure in office, praying that their administration will bring renewed hope and prosperity to the people of Kogi State in line with the consolidation agenda of the Ododo led administration.
Signed
