In a bold move to consolidate youth and student support for the current administration, the Kogi Students Support Group for Tinubu/Ododo has concluded arrangements to hold its maiden inauguration ceremony coupled with an official endorsement for the second term re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The historic event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 21st October, 2026 at the Banquet Hall of the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja by 10:00 AM. The gathering is expected to attract a large crowd of student leaders, youth groups, political stakeholders and supporters from across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State.

According to information contained in the official invitation flyer, the group was formed as a formidable student-based political movement with the core mandate of mobilizing grassroots support and galvanizing the student community towards ensuring the continuity of the Tinubu/Ododo ticket beyond 2027. The maiden inauguration will therefore serve as the formal unveiling of the group to the general public, while also using the platform to publicly declare their total support for the re-election bid of both leaders.

The event is designed to honour two distinguished leaders. His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is the Special Guest of Honour, while His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, is also billed as a special guest.

To give the occasion its deserving colour and official weight, several top government functionaries have been listed to grace the event. They include Hajia Habibat Tijani Onumoko, the Accountant General of Kogi State, Honourable Siyaka Adabenege Yakubu, Auditor General for Local Government, Kogi State, and Honourable Aridaojo Anyiebe Monday, Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, all as Guests of Honour. The Commissioner for Education, Honourable Wemi Jones will serve as the Chief Host, while Ambassador Oladele John Nihi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Students Matters, is the Host of the event.

Political observers in the state have described the formation of the group as a strategic step towards strengthening the youth base of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State ahead of the 2027 general elections. With students constituting a significant voting bloc, their organized support is seen as a major boost to the re-election aspirations of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.

The leadership of the Kogi Students Support Group for Tinubu/Ododo has therefore extended an open invitation to all students, youth organizations, party faithful and members of the general public to come out en masse and be part of what it described as a historic declaration for continuity, consolidation and progress.
