KOGI CENTRAL 2027: YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO'S PERFORMANCE BECOMES KEY TALKING POINT AHEAD OF SENATE RACE

 



As the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District prepare to elect their next representative at the Senate, the performance of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, has become a major talking point.


There is no doubt that the former Governor has endeared himself to the people of Kogi State through the implementation of people-focused programmes and policies that touched every part of the state.


Yahaya Bello's achievements as Governor of Kogi State and his leadership capacity are strong testimonials to consider ahead of 2027.


He is a courageous leader who came with a clear vision of a New Direction for Kogi State. From a relatively young entrepreneur to a state leader, he proved that leadership is about impact, not age.


It will be recalled that in 2016 when he assumed office, Kogi was facing serious security and unity challenges. He confronted them head-on and restored security across the state, making Kogi one of the safest states in North Central Nigeria. His model of security architecture is still being referenced today.


In line with his New Direction mantra, he transformed different sectors. Kogites are still reaping the fruits of his strategic investment in the education sector - from the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, to massive infrastructure in Kogi State University and other institutions, massive employment of teachers and improved performance of Kogi students in WAEC, NECO and JAMB.


Under his watch, Kogi workers experienced a new deal through the civil service reforms, prompt payment of salaries, clearance of inherited salary arrears, and empowerment of the workforce. His administration also provided a conducive environment for governance by building befitting infrastructure like the Ganaja Flyover Bridge, Reference Hospital Okene, and the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre.


Furthermore, under his administration, Kogi State became more economically viable through financial re-engineering, blocking of leakages, and increasing the state's Internally Generated Revenue. His massive investment in road construction across the three senatorial districts opened up rural communities and boosted commerce.


While some critics tried to use his outspoken nature to downplay his competence, he proved them wrong by showing WORKINGS - attracting massive federal presence, road projects, and giving Kogi Central and Kogi State at large a strong voice at the national level.


Kogi Central people understand that Yahaya Adoza Bello is a strategic thinker, a go-getter and a fighter who will not go to the Senate for publicity stunts but will network effectively to pass bills and motions that will positively impact their lives and bring federal dividends to the people.


The Senate is not for showmanship but a platform to add value and contribute to national development. Yahaya Bello is not an attention seeker. He knows how to get the job done without unnecessary drama. The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), has commended His Excellency,  the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, for unveiling security drones to combat insecurity in Kogi State.
