Nurse Adams Jemilat Ohunene of the Kogi State College of Nursing Sciences, Obangede has made history as the Pioneer Chairperson of the National Association of Polytechnic Students, NAPS, State Liaising Council, Kogi State Axis.

Her emergence is more than an election. It is the birth of a new era, one built on inclusivity, courage, and the promise that every polytechnic and monotechnic student in Kogi will have a seat at the table.

Speaking with joy and humility after her emergence, the new Chairperson said: “This is a call to serve, not to be served. My administration will place unity first and make our voice visible everywhere it matters. From Kogi State Polytechnic to College of Nursing Sciences Obangede, Federal Polytechnic Idah to anywhere monotechnic students are found, we rise together. No one will be left behind.”

Chairperson Jemilat pledged to work hand-in-hand with NAPS National Secretariat and its Zone in North Central, NANS, school managements, and student leaders to protect welfare, push academic excellence, and create opportunities for skills and leadership growth.

Observers at the congress held on the 28th June 2026, described her win as “refreshing” and “historic,” noting that her nursing background brings compassion, discipline, and a fresh perspective to student leadership in the Confluence State.

Today, Kogi celebrates a daughter. Tomorrow, we build a stronger NAPS family together.

Once again, Congratulations, Madam Pioneer Chairperson!
