NANS ZONEC Cynosure: A Luminary Convergence of Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurial Panache

On 10 December 2025, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS ZONE C) North Central Region hosted a vibrant Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship forum at the Federal University Lokoja. The event, themed “Money Smart - Future: Empowering Nigerian Students to Build, Grow, Thrive,” drew enthusiastic students from Kwara, Niger, Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, Abuja and Kogi State, underscoring the region’s growing appetite for economic empowerment.



The organizer and NANS ZONE C Secretary‑General Comr. Muhammed Saeed emphasized the program’s relevance: “Financial education is the backbone of a thriving nation. By providing free bank accounts with Wema and Access Bank, and facilitating free SMEDAN certificate registration, we are turning aspirations into actionable assets for our students.” The initiative also featured an Empowerment Scheme that linked participants with micro‑finance partners and startup funds.


The forum was chaired by the Kogi State APC Youths Leader Hon. Mohammed U. Mohammed, who praised the collaborative effort: “This gathering showcases the power of youth‑led innovation. When we equip our students with knowledge, capital and official registration, we lay the groundwork for sustainable development across the North‑Central region.



Other that graced it are: His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo FCA the Executive Governor of Kogi State ably represented by the DG Protocols Alhaji Ibrahim Suleiman, The SSA to Kogi State Governor on SEMA Dr. Sandra Musa Mimi Ph.D, Prince Onuche Gabriel Opaluwa Ogwuche Ankpa, CEO CYAWEI Hajiya Nana Khadijah Abubakar, Provost Kogi State College of Education Ankpa ably represented, the Vice Chancellor Federal University lokoja ably represented, the Rector Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja ably represented, the NANS JCC Chairmen across the 7 States led by the Host Comr Ojo Samuel Adeoye from Kogi State, NAKOSS National President, NYCN State Treasurer Comr Abdullahi Madami amongst others.


Highlights included dynamic panel discussions with fintech experts, a startup pitch showcase, musical performances, comedy sketches and a lively dance competition that kept the atmosphere energetic and engaging.



 Participants left with not only practical tools such as opened bank accounts and SMEDAN certificates but also a renewed sense of confidence to build, grow and thrive.
