In a brief but heartfelt statement issued today, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone C Secretary‑General, Comrade Muhammed Saeed, congratulated the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) community on the appointment of Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye as the institution’s fourth Vice‑Chancellor.

Comrade Saeed described Professor Ibileye’s academic pedigree and leadership experience as “a beacon of hope for our students and the wider academic fraternity.” He added, “We welcome Professor Ibileye with open arms and look forward to collaborating with him to address the myriad challenges facing higher education in Kogi State and beyond.”

The new Vice‑Chancellor, a distinguished scholar in environmental science, previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Ibadan and has led several national research initiatives. His tenure at FUL, which began on 1 December 2025, is expected to usher in a period of enhanced research output, infrastructure development, and stronger community ties.

NANS Zone C pledged its full support to Professor Ibileye’s administration, urging the university to prioritize student welfare, adequate funding, and inclusive policies. “Together, we will strive to make Federal University Lokoja a model of academic Excellence in our dear nation,” Comrade Saeed concluded.
