NAPS LAUDS GALAXY BACKBONE MD/CEO, PROF. IBRAHIM ADEPOJU ADEYANJU, FOR DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION LEADERSHIP

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), the umbrella body representing over 28.1 million Nigerian Polytechnic, Monotechnic, and allied institutions awarding ND and HND across the six geopolitical zones, has once again recognized transformational leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Today, we rise to commend Professor Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone Limited, for his visionary leadership and the unprecedented strides achieved since his assumption of office in February 2024.

Under his stewardship, Galaxy Backbone has consolidated its role as Nigeria’s leading government ICT services provider, offering secure shared digital infrastructure for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), State Governments, and the private sector. His efforts have significantly expanded the nation’s optical fiber backbone and Tier III data centers, making e-Government and digital transformation more seamless across the country.

It will also interest the public to know that Galaxy Backbone, under Professor Adeyanju’s watch, was honored in London as Nigeria’s Most Impactful Government Agency, with the MD/CEO himself receiving a Congressional Commendation from the South Carolina House of Representatives for his contributions to ICT growth and governance reforms.

Professor Adeyanju has equally demonstrated strategic foresight by fostering partnerships such as the Bauchi State Government ICT MOU, which is boosting regional capacity for digital governance and service delivery. His proactive leadership in driving national connectivity aligns squarely with Nigeria’s push for a resilient digital economy.

A refined gentleman, scholar, and innovator, Prof. Adeyanju embodies the qualities of a servant-leader who understands the pivotal role of technology in national development. Those who doubted his quiet but firm capacity now admit that he is setting new benchmarks in Nigeria’s ICT ecosystem.

In a world where nations compete on the strength of their digital infrastructure, Nigeria cannot afford to lag behind. With Prof. Adeyanju at the helm, Galaxy Backbone is not only powering government operations but also inspiring millions of students and young innovators who dream of a digitally empowered future.

On this note, NAPS leadership unanimously passes a vote of confidence on Professor Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju to continue delivering on his mandate, and we urge him not to relent in his commitment to national progress.

We have watched. We are encouraged. We are inspired.

Thank you President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for giving us a visionary man who is turning ICT growth into hope and opportunity.
