IGNITING RESILIENCE: NAPS Hosts Landmark Colloquium on Global Health Security




The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) recently took a significant step towards promoting global health security by hosting a groundbreaking Health Campus Colloquium themed "Global Health Summit: Outbreak Readiness and Response" on 10th July 2025 at Kogi State College of Nursing and Midwifery Obangede. Led by Vice President National Affairs, Comr Usman Ibrahim Dende, the event brought together esteemed experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from various institutions across the globe to discuss innovative strategies for tackling health crises and promoting health security.


The colloquium was graced by the presence of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo FCA, who was ably represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Students Affairs to the Kogi State Governor. This esteemed representation underscored the government's commitment to promoting health security and supporting initiatives that enhance outbreak readiness and response.


The colloquium featured thought-provoking presentations from renowned guest speakers, including Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa, Executive Director of KSPHCDA; Mr. James Anaza Duro Joseph, Provost of College of Nursing and Midwifery Obangede; and San Umar Shaibu Anataku, Provost of College of Health Science and Technology Idah. These experts shared their expertise and experiences in outbreak readiness and response, highlighting the importance of collaboration, innovation, and community engagement.


Through this landmark event, NAPS reaffirmed its commitment to promoting health security and mitigating the impact of health crises.
