NORTHERN SECURITY ROUNDTABLE, A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO FINDING LASTING SOLUTIONS TO INSECURITY IN NIGERIA - NCCC

 




The North Central Citizens Council (NCCC) has applauded the decision taken by the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), the mother body of all sociocultural groups in Northern Nigeria to organize a two day Roundtable to tackle the menace of Insecurity in Northern Nigeria and the country at large.



In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Council, Comrade Agbo Baba, the North Central Citizens Council are in full support of the Security Roundtable which has been scheduled to take place in Abuja from the 24th to 25th January, 2024. 



The Secretary appreciate the Coalition for having the courage to organize such an event which will for the first time bring together all relevant stakeholders in the security business, ranging from Past heads of military, police, former heads of state, Governors both past and present, traditional rulers, religion heads both past and present and the citizens themselves to rub minds, this has shown that the North is ready to champion for peace this time around in the region.



NCCC will mobilize her members cut across the six states of the north Central and the FCT to participate in the Roundtable as this will provide for our people the opportunity to discuss way forward with security experts, government agencies and all other relevant stakeholders to share new ideas on how to bring to an end the issue of insecurity bedeviling the North Central, the North and indeed the nation at large, Especially with the current rise in kidnapping in the FCT, the massacre of innocent souls in Plateau state and so on.



We hereby call on all invited guests invited from the zone, sociocultural groups, Civil Society Organizations to ensure they participate in the Roundtable and urge the general public to expect nothing less than a very robust and a comprehensive approach to ending the security problems that have almost brought the region to it knees.
